See what we're learning.
Talk and share with your child about the day.
Review and give extra help and practice if needed.

Today in First Grade

Phonics:

Today we did "tion."  It means the action pertaining to the word.  We also learned that when an "i" is in front of a "tion,"  it does the short sound.

Reading Groups:

Group A:     The Fox and the Crow

Group B:      Out in Space      Wind Power

Group C:      Bird Watching        Tigers

Math:

Today we talked about cutting things in half, how many halves make a whole, that a half must be an equal share or part, or it is just two pieces not a half, and how to spell the words half and halves.

After lunch we read books, did a word play, had a birthday party and watched a Piano Guys' video.   Then we had an assembly where we listened to a lovely performance of the school's choir performing patriotic songs.  They did a wonderful performance.
