See what we're learning.
Talk and share with your child about the day.
Review and give extra help and practice if needed.

Today in First Grade

Phonics:

Today we learned how to split and mark the sounds of words when there are two or more consonants after the vowel.

Reading Groups

Group A:    Spiders

Group B:    Little Monkey

Group C:    Chocolate

Math:

We practiced naming the 3-D shapes and had our mid-unit practice test about the shapes we are learning.

After lunch we read books, went to the library, and P.E.  Our drama teacher was sick today, so we painted glaze on the ceramic art we did last week.

Spelling Words:

Here is our last spelling word list for the year.  After this we will review words we have already learned.  These words go with the geometry of our math units that we are doing from now to the end of the year.  So even if they don't learn to spell the hard words, this will help them learn what the words mean and become familiar with reading and writing them.
