See what we're learning.
Talk and share with your child about the day.
Review and give extra help and practice if needed.

Today in First Grade

Today we did a review paper about things we have learned lately in phonics.  It included putting "ing" onto words, contractions, marking words, and reading sight words that we have practiced.

Reading Groups:

Group A:         Shadow Puppets

Group B:         Using Magnets     People who use magnets

Grou C:           Summer at Cove Lake      The Four Seasons

We talked more about >, <, and =.  We talked about what "more" and "less or fewer" means.  We learned that we must look at the largest place value first  (that would be the tens for us) to see which is bigger.  If the tens are the same, then we go down to the next place value (that would be ones for us).

After lunch we read books, had computer time, and PE.
Then we did another part of our reading test.
We ended the day by practicing our spelling words.
