Today in First Grade

Phonics:

We practiced more about how the i, e, and y, can often change the sound of c to s and the sound of g to j,  and how to add "ing" onto words that end with those sound changes.

Reading Groups:

Group A:    Flags Flying

Group B:    Dinner by Five     Who Has a Tail

Group C:    Winter         Whales

Math:

There were 15 mice.   Six were white.  How many were black?



Greg had three.   Kaldo had four more than Greg.  How many did Kaldo have?


Liliana has 11 oranges.  Irene has three less than Liliana.  How many oranges does Irene have?


After lunch, the school watched and listened to a performance of the school choir singing lots of songs.  They did a really good job and we all enjoyed it very much.

Today was early-out Wednesday.
