See what we're learning.
Talk and share with your child about the day.
Review and give extra help and practice if needed.

Today in First Grade

Phonics:   Today we practiced the letter Ww.  Did you know that in spanish they call it the double V instead of the double U?  We talked about the quiet d in the word Wednesday.  We also talked about how the w affects the letter a.  Most of the time, the letter w makes the a say the short o sound.  You can see examples of it in the words I wrote on the board.  There are a few words that the w does not change the letter a, such as the word wax.
