Phonics:

Today we did "sion" and compared it to the "tion" that we learned last time.  We talked about how to tell the two apart.  Sometimes it is hard, but here are the clues.  If it is proceeded by  s,  l,  or n,  then it will be "sion."  If it makes a harder sound, sort of like a "jhun," then it will be "sion."

Reading Groups:

Group A:     Summer at Cove Lake

Group B:     Remembering George Washington

Group C:     The Bakery      Elephants

Math:

Today we talked about fourths, or quarters.

After lunch we read books, went to the library, and PE.   The drama lady was sick today, so we practiced our part for the program next week all by ourselves.

We ended the day watching another Piano Guys video.  We are enjoying them.

After lunch we read books, did a word play, had a birthday party and watched a Piano Guys' video.   Then we had an assembly where we listened to a lovely performance of the school's choir performing patriotic songs.  They did a wonderful performance.
